As a boudoir photographer, I talk to many, many women who want to have a boudoir experience but they don’t feel ready… there’s something holding them back. Oftentimes, they give me a list of all the things wrong with themselves — things they don’t like about themselves, things they would change about themselves, listing their so-called imperfections. Everyone has insecurities, everyone has imperfections, myself included. And when you know the camera is aimed at you, those thoughts and fears become amplified. After all, there’s a reason why “camera-shy” is a word.
Maybe you’ve been curiously eyeing my site for a while now. Or maybe one of your girlfriends posted about her incredible boudoir experience. You want to book, but you’re not ready. Your body isn’t the same as it was ten years ago. You want to lose fifteen pounds. You think that you’ll be the only one that I can’t make look or feel beautiful. You have to get rid of your cellulite.
I want to tell you one thing: give yourself a break! We’re all our own toughest critics. We’ll always have things we want to change about ourselves — but, I think, instead of always trying to change ourselves, we should embrace ourselves as we are… free ourselves of our self-doubt… learn to love ourselves unconditionally… Imagine that? Well, that’s exactly what a boudoir experience does.
Beauty knows no shape, size, age, or color. No matter what season of life you’re in, boudoir is a celebration of who you are, exactly as you are. This is an opportunity to connect with yourself and your body on a deep, deep level and really witness the beautiful woman that you are. It’s an eye-opening experience that breeds a powerful self-love that will extend a lifetime beyond your photoshoot. You’ll finally see yourself as everyone else sees you, and you’ll be free to feel beautiful, confident, and to love the skin you’re in. It’s liberating!
As your photographer, I want to meet you right where you are, exactly as you are — and, don’t forget, I’m a professional photographer! I’ve been doing this for years. I know exactly how you should pose in ways that accentuate you, from your head to your toes. We’ll highlight and showcase the parts you love most about yourself, and even if there are parts you don’t necessarily like about yourself, just let me know and I’ll show you how to elongate, accentuate, and/or conceal them without ever overexposing them. I’ll coach you on your facial expression, from your mouth to your forehead to your eyes. I know the perfect lighting. I have an awesome camera. Pair all of this with a fabulous, proper-fitting outfit that complements your body and reflects your personality… and you’ve got this.
After your shoot, when you see yourself in this new light, I guarantee that you will feel empowered. You’ll see that there’s no reason to hide behind your insecurities and flaws anymore. You’ll be liberated. You’ll love yourself unconditionally. It’s totally normal to be nervous or afraid before your shoot — but I’m telling you that the time will never be just right, so don’t let that fear overrule you or prevent you from the experience of a lifetime. It’s time to step outside of your comfort zone and own yourself exactly how you are in the skin you’re in. It’s time for your confidence to ignite. Once you see yourself, it will all be worth it, and I promise that you won’t regret it.
